Drug bust in Benz Street

“The officers found 63 small sachets of CAT with a street value of an estimated R50 000."

ON August 28, while two officers – Constable Matimba Mabasa and Mashilo Mochosa – were performing their normal duties of patrolling the area, they received a call from their senior to provide back-up at a house in Benz Street.

Apparently the officers knocked on the door but nobody answered. They kept on knocking and suddenly a man jumped out of a back window.

According to Captain Vusi Mhlophe, the officers managed to open the door and found a 19-year-old woman in the house.

“The officers found 63 small sachets of CAT with a street value of an estimated R50 000. The CAT sachets were hidden in a broken fax machine along with R6710 in cash,” said Captain Mhlophe.

The 19-year-old woman was arrested for dealing in drugs. She was taken to the Eden Park Police Station where statements were taken by the two officers.
