Family sjamboked and robbed by armed criminals

They got away with goods valued at about R8 000.

A MAN, his wife and eight-month-old baby fell victim to an armed robbery in Palmridge on September 6 at 2am by four armed men.

Police reported that the man returned home from work at 6pm on September 5 and went to bed around 10pm after checking that all doors and windows were properly locked.

Then, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the family heard somebody kick the door open. Suddenly, four unknown men were inside the house.

One of the suspects, with a firearm, allegedly fired a shot inside the house while the other three started sjamboking the husband and wife. It’s reported that the criminals repeated accusations that the man never paid them after working for him.

The suspects then took a plasma television set, cellphone and the victim’s driver’s license card and fled the scene on foot. The suspects are not known to the victim.

They got away with goods valued at about R8 000.

Capt Vusi Mhlophe confirmed that a case of armed robbery has been opened at Eden Park SAPS and that they are investigating.
