Teenager injured in collision on Kliprivier Drive

The 14-year-old boy was a passenger in the Mazda.

 

A 14-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital this afternoon with minor injuries after a collision on Kliprivier Drive and True North Road intersection.

DISASTER: SAPS and all emergency services were on scene.

A grey Mazda and a white Opel collided at around 3.45pm today, September 14. The grey Mazda had yielded at the intersection to turn right into True North Road. According to ER24 medic, Bellinda Letuka who was on scene, the white Opel which was travelling in the fast lane did not stop as the traffic light turned amber and then red and collided with the turning Mazda causing it to land on its roof.

ON SCENE: Maponya 911 and ER24 were on scene.

A family of three travelling in a white Mercedes stopped on Kliprivier Drive at the time of the accident to assist at the scene. According to Letuka, there was a ‘smash and grab’ happening at the same time while people were attending to the accident. Suspects broke the back passenger window and took the learner’s school bag.
