A SMALL area in Eden Park is plagued by housebreak-in.
Two weeks ago, a burglary happened in Abraham Street with the following one in Corona Street. The most recent one took place in Fiat Street, which is the most notorious street for burglaries, and as many residents say, is where the most thieves abide.

On the night of October 29, the Mabunda family went to bed ensuring that every door is locked. But, on Monday they found their garage door wide open. It was opened with a pair of scissors which was stuck in the key slot and left there.
“We never knew that scissors can open a garage door,” said Felicia Mabunda. “The garage is used as a TV room for the family. The thieves stole our big plasma television, sound system and DVD-player, which are all Sony equipment.
“These must be the same thieves who have been breaking into our cars, stealing the battery. In the last six months, they stole three batteries. We get up and find the car bonnet open with the battery gone. We have now opened another case of housebreak-in and are just hoping for the best.”
As reported in a previous publication, Capt Vusi Mhlophe said burglaries around Cortina, Corona, Fiat, Ford, Hillman, Hudson and Abraham streets are giving him grey hair. Police are investigating the case.
