Residents share their Christmas shopping plans

"It’s my way of showing love and appreciation to my close family.”

December is finally here! The RECORD ventured into some of Alberton’s shopping districts to see what our Christmas shoppers were up to.

DRUMBLADE RESIDENT, Isabella de Villiers said: “As a family, we don’t really believe in buying gifts for Christmas. Rather, we believe in celebrating Christmas by spending quality time together as a family. We also have communion on Christmas Eve.”
BRACKENDOWNS RESIDENT, Deandré du Plooy said: “Oh, Christmas shopping is so exciting for me! I already started shopping for gifts in September. It’s my way of showing love and appreciation to my close family.”
ALBERTSDAL RESIDENT, Nicole Sibuyi said: “Working in a toy shop, I’m the first to see the great specials on toys, so I’ve already started Christmas shopping in October. I’ll spoil my little brother, who means the world to me.”
KATLEHONG RESIDENT, Nonhlanhla Ngomane said: “Personally, I don’t really believe in buying Christmas gifts, so I haven’t been doing any shopping. I do receive gifts though, but only from my work.”
