Two suspects have been arrested for car theft. At approximately 4pm on Saturday, February 3, at Mall at Newmarket, two men were spotted attempting to steal a car.
According to Du Toit Lambrechts from SOG Security, one of the patrolling security guards saw to men attempting to steal a vehicle and a fight ensued.
More of the security guards came to assist and just then the police came by and apprehended the suspects.
“Unfortunately the getaway driver got away,” says Lambrechts.
The suspects were transported from the scene by ambulance after receiving minor to medium injuries during the struggle.
