Junior Colleges Castillian hosts fun run for World Cancer Day

The little ones especially enjoyed the festivities.

JUNIOR Colleges Castillian, together with Mundell’s Hairdressing, hosted a Pink Colour Fun Run on February 2. This year, World Cancer Day was celebrated on February 4.

“Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, all people have the power to take various actions to reduce the impact that cancer has on individuals, families and communities,” said Elizabeth Steenkamp on behalf of the college.

“World Cancer Day is a chance to reflect on what you can do, make a pledge and take action. Whatever you choose to do, you can make a positive difference and fight against the dread of cancer,” she added.

Mundell’s Hairdressing held a Shave-A-Thon and many brave parents, children and staff of the college shaved their heads. The little ones especially enjoyed the festivities – pink cupcakes, pink ribbons, pink marshmallows and pink ice-cream to match their little pink faces.

SHAVE-A-THON: This brave youngster had his head shaved to show his support towards the cause.
