Bingo night at Alberton retirement centre
An enjoyable evening at the Alberton retirement centre
ROTARY Club of Alberton held a Christmas bingo evening on Wednesday November 20 at the Alberton Retirement Centre where approximately 70 elderly folk from the Alberton area (Alberton retirement Centre and Silverkroon) were treated to an annual Christmas dinner along with a few games of Bingo with great prizes.
The Bingo evening, which occurs once a month at the retirement centre, is one of Rotary’s projects whereby they give to the community.
The evenings are meant to be a fun evening whereby the elderly get a chance to socialise with other people from other retirement homes and have an evening out, which many do not experience due to their circumstances.
The evenings are hosted by Rotary Club of Alberton along with the Inner Wheel Club who supply the eats. They are always looking for donations in the form of prizes for the evenings and should anyone want to get involved or donate prizes or even eats, etc. for the evenings they may contact Brett.
Don’t forget to go the their “Tree of Joy” project on Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1 which will be at the entrance to Game in Alberton City. “We ask that members of the public simply take a tag off the tree, buy gifts to the value of around R150, and then hand the items to the Rotarians at the tree who will then wrap the gifts and distribute them shortly thereafter,” says Brett.
Should you want to pledge to take gift cards or wish to just make a donation please contact Brett 083 328 9773.
