Looting chaos in Eden Park

"Waar gaan ons nou weer skuld kry," shouted an old lady watching looters trying to force the police out of the way to loot a foreigner's shop in Bentley Street on November 21.

EDEN PARK – Shops belonging to Pakistani and Somali nationals were targeted by looters throughout Eden Park. This was sparked by a similar action in Thokoza on Tuesday.

People were seen running away with bundles of food and cold drinks, some people even used their children to carry their loot home.

An upset 54-year-old mother had this to say, “Sies man. These useless dagga and drug users are just copy cats doing what they heard happened in Thokoza. Most of these looters are those who steal and break into our homes. May all the looters get sick of the food they stole.”

A shot was fired to disperse the looters.
