Police mum on Krejcir’s whereabouts

Police are still mum on which unit took Radovan Krejcir into custody following his arrest on Friday November 22.

JOHANNESBURG – The RECORD reported on Saturday Morning, November 23, “Radovan Krecjir’s lawyers have been granted an urgent high court order compelling police to tell them where their client is being held.”

Eyewitness News (EWN) reported, “It has been established that it was not the Hawks team which has been investigating crimes linked to the businessman.”

Recently, several people who were linked to Krejcir were killed in Bedfordview, including Veselin Laganin and Sam Issa, who were shot dead in two separate incidents last month.

Krejcir was arrested at his Bedfordview home on Friday for attempted murder and kidnapping. His lawyers have been granted an urgent high court order compelling police to tell them where their client is being held.

The order, granted by a judge after midnight, forces the police to allow Krejcir to exercise his right to legal representation.

EWN said, “The police have taken the unusual step of naming a suspect who has been arrested before he has appeared in court.

“They say they have done this because of the public interest in the case.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest, Krejcir’s lawyer says he doesn’t know where his client is being held or who arrested him.

He also says he cannot confirm rumours that have been circulating this week that the Czech’s wife and son have left the country for South America and that he is on the verge of leaving too.

Police say they will be holding a press conference in Pretoria this afternoon to give more information about the arrest.

A number of tweets suggest Krejcir was planning to flee South Africa this morning. Nothando Maseko tweeted, “Unconfirmed news in : MrBond007 aka #Krecjir had planned to flee SA for Namibia – from there catch a cargo plane to South America.”
