CPS SECURITY managed to arrest a suspect who has been causing trouble in the Alberton area for a few months.
The suspect has been allegedly stealing fuses from the municipality transformers causing a number of power outages, which had to be replaced on numerous occasions by Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality (EMM).
On August 2, at about 6am, he was spotted by CPS Security’s officers at a fuse box. He tried to escape, but the officers arrested him in Redruth Street in New Redruth.
After officers searched him they found a number of fuses. The suspect confirmed that he was selling each fuse for R50, and had been targeting the New Redruth area for the past few weeks.

He was arrested and is being detained at Alberton SAPS.
“Well done to all involved,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director.
