Alexia gives the gift of movement

She remembers how she felt seeing patients not having the means to move around, as they were unable to afford a wheelchair.

OFTEN being inspired to do something to impact another individual’s life, comes through the trials in your own life.

This is true for Alexa Nightingale, a Grade Seven learner at Grace Trinity. Her inspiration to work on collecting over 400kg of plastic caps for a wheelchair came through visiting her father at a care facility after a tragic accident that left him in a wheelchair.

THANK YOU: Nadine Mason from Amcare with Alexia Nightingale.

She remembers how she felt seeing patients not having the means to move around, as they were unable to afford a wheelchair.

The gift of movement, through the aid of a wheelchair, helps towards independent living.

“Amcare is honoured to have been the beneficiary of the wheelchair and all the effort that went into the project,” said Nadine Mason, fund-raising relationship manager for Amcare.

“If our community can inspire more of our youth to think bigger in terms of reaching the most vulnerable, we would cultivate a culture of community, caring and change.

“Thank you Alexia for your heart to reach out and make a difference in your community,” Nadine added.
