Tyla’s equestrian success earns her a bursary

Tyla Nepgen received a yearlong bursary at IEA Elite for courses that will equip her for a career with horses.

TYLA Nepgen’s achievements in the equestrian sport, which she has been taking part in since she was six, have not gone unnoticed by The IEA Elite.

Her excellent horsemanship, as well as achieving top accolades at Alberton High School, equestrian competition results over the past few years and dedication to the sport have made her stand out from the rest.

The IEA Elite, together with ArkStar Kidz Club NPO, welcome the opportunity to further her equestrian skills and qualifications. Tyla is the first candidate to qualify for the select few bursaries offered to top academic and equestrian achievers.

The one-year bursary consists of training for the first four modules of the EQASA exams and hands-on practical experience on a day to day basis. She will be learning and working at The IEA Elite where she will gain experience in yard management, managing a small stud, foaling down, foal handling, backing, lunging, schooling, show preparation, tack and travel.

For the future

With a compliment of 47 learners at our academy ranging from beginner to advance level riders, Tyla will be expanding her teaching abilities over the year. During Tyla’s internship she will learn the operation of running a small tack shop, which entails stock control, sales, social media marketing and point of sales software management. She will play an integral role with regard to hosting shows and expo’s help at The IEA Elite on a regular basis. Upon successful completion of the course, Tyla will achieve a national qualification.

The IEA Elite produce well-equipped personnel who will have the knowledge, confidence and practical experience to be able to work successfully in any sphere of the ever-growing equine industry in South Africa and abroad. ArkStar Kidz Club NPO are the benefactors of Tyla’s bursary to The IEA Elite. ArkStar Kidz Club NPO is aimed at facilitating the empowerment of talented equestrian individuals within a defined continuum of interventions including bursaries. They are transforming the demographics of the professions to reflect those of the country in terms of race and gender.

Together we congratulate Tyla Nepgen on her current achievements and look forward to participating in her future growth.
