
ADRIAAN van Wyk, the man who stands accused of the murder of Melonique Klassen, appeared for his first high court appearance on October 26.
The case, which was originally heard in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, was transferred to the Johannesburg High Court on October 22. Van Wyk will be charged with four separate counts during the high court trial. The counts are murder, theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
The matter has been postponed until November 9 for the accused to receive legal aid. The pre-trial conference will take place on the day where the date of trial will be set.
