A TIP-OFF from members of the community resulted in an Eden Park resident being arrested by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit for possession of 112 ziplock bags of dagga.
The arrest and seizure of the dagga happened on January 10 around 3.30pm.
The Drug Enforcement Unit members responded swiftly to the tip-off. On raiding the house on Gibson Kente Street they uncovered 72 large ziplock bags and 40 ziplock bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R3 000.
A male suspect at the house was arrested and cash amounting to R4 230, suspected to be proceeds of drug dealing, was confiscated.
The 42-year-old suspect was detained at Eden Park Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in dagga. He is expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
