EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members arrested a Nigerian national (34) on March 6 at around 5pm in Parkland Avenue, Alberton.
Members of the community alerted the Drug Enforcement Unit about suspected drug deals which resulted in the arrest of the foreign national.
“The Nigerian national was found in possession of Cat, crystal methamphetamine and dagga with a street value of R9 100,” said EMPD spokesperson Supt Wilfred Kgasago.
Twenty ziplock bags of crystal meth, five ziplock bags of Cat and one ziplock bag of dagga were found and the man was immediately arrested.
“He was taken to Alberton Police Station and was charged with dealing and possession of narcotics. He is set to appear in Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon,” added Kgasago.
