A MESSAGE has been doing the rounds on social media about a man going around Brackenhurst impersonating a police officer.
According to the message the suspect, a well-built man in his thirties, drives a silver/grey Volkswagen Polo GT with erratically flashing blue lights in the grill.
The author of the message claims that the suspect has pulled over at least two people claiming to be a police officer. The suspect has no identification, but claims that the pulled over person is under arrest and wants to search the car without any explanation given.
The author of the post claims that the suspect is active between 6.30am and 8am in Brackenhurst.
The RECORD has asked Brackendowns SAPS about the message. Spokesperson Sgt Lindile Moloi said the matter has not been reported to SAPS. “We encourage members of the community to report to the police so that incidents can be investigated properly,” said Moloi.
