Previous offender arrested for alleged drug dealing

The suspect was arrested on Renault Street in Eden Park.

EMPD Drug Enforcement arrested a re-offending suspect on April 15. Acting on a tip-off regarding a suspected drug dealer in Eden Park, EMPD officers swooped down on the given address in Renault Street. There they found a suspect in possession of 20 ziplock bags of Cat with an estimated street value of R4 000. Additionally, R3 000 suspected to be proceeds from his illicit trades was confiscated.

It later emerged that the suspect was previously found guilty of a crime, was fined R6 000 and received a five-year suspended sentence. The 49-year-old male suspect was arrested and locked up at Eden Park Police Station. He is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court to face charges of possession and dealing in narcotics, as well as the violation of the conditions of his suspended five-year sentence.
