THE Alberton Licensing Department is not accepting cash for payments until further notice due to a break-in that took place between Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Members of the public must bring cards for payments and big companies will use EFT as usual.
Nothing of value was stolen from the premises. Computers were found within the department, hidden in a room.
Centre manager for Motor Vehicle Registration Authority Tshifhiwa Mphagi told the RECORD that the computers were disconnected, and the doors, security doors and the roof were broken and damaged.
A case has been opened at Alberton Police Station and no arrests have been made.
