Two alleged khat dealers arrested in Eden Park

Two Eden Park alleged Khat dealers to appear in court.

AN early morning special operation conducted by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) on May 17 lead to the arrest of two suspects for possession of khat in Eden Park.

The pair was handcuffed around 7.30am at Eden Mews flats on Lamberta Street when 19 ziplocks of khat valued at R5 700 were found on them. The DEU members also confiscated cash totaling R460 believed to be proceeds from illicit dealings by the pair.

The suspects, aged 26 and 33, were charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances at Eden Park Police Station. They appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on May 20.
