Alberton High finishes Spur series on a high

The final race took place on August 24 in Sandton.

RIDERS from Alberton High took part in the fourth and final race of the Gauteng South Spur Anatomic MTB School Series on August 24.

The race took place at St Stithian’s in Sandton. Thirteen members of the Alberton High MTB team took part and did very well.

Laps were 5.2km in distance and the number of laps to be completed depended on the age category. Sub juniors completed two laps while the junior men completed four laps.

The fastest lap time recorded on the day was 13 minutes 26 seconds.

Several of the Alberton High team managed to seed within the top 50 riders and the school placed 23rd out of the 57 schools that took part. Alberton High and the team’s sponsors, IPOP Bassonia and Suzuki JHB South, would like to congratulate the team on a great season’s racing and brilliant team building.
