Young tennis players do well at play-offs

Best players from primary schools in and around the Ekurhuleni region walked away victorious after participating in the Tennis Play-offs on September 6.

FINEST players from primary schools in and around the Ekurhuleni region walked away victorious after participating in the Tennis Play-offs on September 6.

The learners participated for their Primary Schools’ Tennis League which took place at GETA Complex, Lakeside, in Benoni.

Best players from each area, based on term three’s primary schools tennis league results, were selected and each area played play-offs against each other.

Teams that participated came as far as Kempton Park, Brakpan, Springs, Nigel, Boksburg, Benoni, and Alberton. In their respective orders, Alberton Boys came first, with Boksburg and Benoni Boys in second place, Kempton Park being third, while Brakpan, Springs, and Nigel in fourth place.

The Alberton Girls also fought their way up to first place, Brakpan, Springs, and Nigel being in second place, in third place was Boksburg and Benoni, while Kempton Park was in fourth place.

Among other schools, the learners were selected from Laerskool Generaal Alberts, Laerskool Randhart, Laerskool Orion and Brackenhurst Primary School.
