Detective’s hard work leads to conviction of rapist/murderer

Following Detective Sergeant Phadu Molefi's work, a sentence of seven life terms was handed to the convicted rapist.

BRACKENDOWNS SAPS would like to commend the hard work of one its officers in ensuring a successful conviction of the serial rapist and murderer Anthony Nzimane.

Nzimane was arrested on August 4, 2017.

On September 16 Nzimane was sentenced to a combined seven life sentences, four on counts of rape and three on counts of murder.

He was further sentenced to 15 years each on four counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances.

Brackendowns SAPS is proud of the work of Detective Sergeant Phadu Pieter Molefi, who applied himself fully to the case and through hard work ensured that what was necessary to have the accused convicted was available.

“It’s all about hard work and dedication,” said Molefi.

“I have to thank the families of the victims and the victims themselves for working with us in securing a conviction. Thank you to all the other role players who gathered the information. A special thank you to my team who assisted me through everything.”
