EMPD special operation arrests 11 wanted persons

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Public Order Policing Unit’s visit to different police stations resulted in an arrest of 11 suspects on October 3.

THE Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Public Order Policing Unit’s visit to different police stations resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects on October 3.

The EMPD visited different stations and collected SAPS dockets which contained information of wanted suspects.

Some of these suspects were those who disappeared after criminal cases were opened against them or who failed to appear in court when being summoned.

The suspects were traced and apprehended for armed and common robbery, dealing in drugs, theft, assault with GBH, fraud, malicious damage to property and contempt of court.

The male suspects are between the ages of 28 and 48. They were detained and handed over to Eden Park, Etwatwa, Katlehong, Tembisa, Rabie Ridge and Vosloorus police stations.

They will be safeguarded as they are yet to appear in appropriate courts.
