EMPD arrests three

The operations resulted in a number of arrest and stolen goods to be found throughout Ekurhuleni.

The EMPD plain clothes Specialized Task Team Members responded to a call on October 15 about a parked sedan with three suspicious-looking male occupants just before midday.

The vehicle was parked at the corner of Ring Road West and Seventh Avenue.

Upon investigations, the sedan was reported stolen.

The men, who were previously convicted of murder, were on the SAPS wanted list for attempted murder, common robbery plus robbery with firearm in Alberton and Soshanguve.

One of them also has a murder case pending. The men, between the ages of 30 and 49, were handcuffed and handed over to Alberton SAPS.

On October 19, just after 3pm, the team and Fox Security personnel, SAPS members with detectives and Magma Rapid Response followed up on information received.

They arrested a Nigerian national in Eden Park at 3pm and 20 blocks of khat measured at 2 505g valued at R150 000 were confiscated.

The place where the drug was found, the age of the suspect, the police station and the Magistrate’s Court will soon be revealed, since other arrests are imminent, and due to this case being of a sensitive nature.

A number of other arrests were also made in towns throughout Ekurhuleni.
