UPDATE: Manhunt launched after father and son shot dead in Alberton North

A man (53) and his son (23) died on the scene.

Police have launched a manhunt for the unknown suspects who shot and killed two people in Alberton yesterday.

According to Gauteng Provincial spokesperson, Capt Kay Makhuble, it is alleged that a BMW with two occupants stopped next to a shop in Kritzinger Road and then a car stopped parallel to the parked vehicle.

The occupants of the second car opened fired on the driver and passenger in the parked vehicle.

A man (53) and his son (23) died on the scene.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

No arrests have been made and SAPS are calling for anyone with any information to phone their nearest police station.
