Four nabbed in connection with Primrose hijacking

The Primrose police apprehended four suspects on a charge of hijacking.

Primrose police recently arrested four suspects, aged between 18 and 26 years old, on a charge of hijacking.

The hijacking is alleged to have taken place on the corner of Daisy and Rietfontein roads, in Primrose.

“The complainant claimed that he was at the address when he was approached by two women,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“While speaking to the women, who allegedly wanted him to accompany them to a nearby location, he was approached by three men.

“The men allegedly, without provocation, began to assault the complainant.”

The man was able to escape from the suspects and claimed he went to find help.

“When he returned, his vehicle and the suspects were reportedly gone,” said Maome.

Once the matter had been reported to the police, an investigation was launched and officers were able to trace and arrest four suspects linked to the crime.

They have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their case was postponed for a bail application.
