Four arrested in one day

They are expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members conducted a crime prevention operation on January 24, and arrested four suspects found with narcotics and prohibited home distilled liquid concoction.

At 6.15am on Gerrit Maritz Road, 2nd Avenue in the Alberton North, three men who are 38, 54 and 63 years of age, were cornered and body-searched before the DEU members uncovered a loose plastic bag containing 50 grams of dagga, a ziplock of crystal meth, three knotted plastics of nyaope valued at R1 000 and R298 in cash. The trio were booked at Alberton SAPS.

On the same day in Prins Albert Road in Brackenhurst at 8.30am, officers arrested a 42-year-old who was in possession of drugs valued at R2 000, including liquid G, Jeyes fluid, thinners, a cough mixture, among other things.The suspect was charged at the Brackendowns SAPS.

The four suspects are charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances. They are expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
