Members of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended a male suspect with narcotics on March 21.
The 28-year-old was arrested on Ariel Street during their crime prevention operation.
Upon his arrest, they confiscated 16 ziplocks of khat which are valued at R3 200 and R259 in cash.
The suspect was detained at Eden Park Police Station and faces charges of possession and intention to sell an illicit substance.
He will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
