Assaulted pensioner still waits for justice

Eden Park police say they are investigating a case of assault and robbery since April.

A pensioner, Hendry Cox (68) of Alpha Street, has been waiting for two months for justice, with injuries still visible on his swollen hand.

“I was assaulted and robbed by two guys at the beginning of April in Alpha Street near a tavern.

“I am very disappointed with the police because I opened a case for assault and robbery but nothing has been done yet. I see those men everyday in the streets; they continue to rob other people,” said Henry.

Captain Mhlophe reported to the RECORD that he was aware of the case and will be consulting with the investigating officer who is handling the case.
