Dysfunctional traffic lights cause delays

Traffic lights at the corner of Heidelberg and Southern Klipriviersberg Toads are never functioning well.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Traffic lights at the corner of Southern Klipriviersberg Road and Heidelberg Road continue to be dysfunctional and cause slow traffic at the intersection.

These lights are at the intersection of roads used by motorists who travel to Alberton, South Hills, Moffatview, and those travelling to the South of Johannesburg.

Traffic is very slow at the intersection during peak hours and ANC’s Bev Turk continues to warn motorists about the intersection and urge them to use it as a four-way stop on social media.

The previous issue of the COURIER reported that the traffic lights were not working due to stolen cable, and the JRA was working to fix the problem.

It is not clear whether or not the traffic lights are back to their normal function, leaving motorists with complaints about ‘on again-off again lights’.
