Stolen vehicle found in South Crest

A Mercedes SUV was stolen at gunpoint on September 18 and recovered on September 19 at 07:30.

ALBERTON – The vehicle’s tracker signal pointed the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Community Liaison Unit officers in the right direction.

Upon receiving the signal, the metro police acted swiftly and were able to locate the hijacked Mercedes SUV abandoned in a carport at a townhouse in the Elands Rock complex at the corner of Irvin Steyn and Paul Kruger streets.

Once formalities were completed, which included lifting of fingerprints, the recovered SUV was towed away to SAPS Van Ryn’s Deep pound.
