Stolen SUV recovered on Kliprivier Road

A routine patrol by an EMPD freeway unit resulted in an arrest and the retrieval of a Toyota Fortuner SUV on October 4.

ALBERTON – The owner reported the Fortuner missing earlier on the morning of October 4 at the Midrand police department.

While on patrol in Alberton, the freeway patrol unit picked up a signal on Kliprivier Road at 15:30.

The vehicle was tracked down at 15:45 the same day and was found on Kliprivier Road next to the Kromvlei cemetery.

The 49-year-old male suspect from Eldorado Park was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle at Mondeor police station.

He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on October 6.
