Late for breakfast and far too fast

EMPD conducted a speed law enforcement operation on Sunday, January 25. The operation took place between 05:00 and 09:00 on the N12 Westbound, between Comaro and R59.

ALBERTON – A few speedsters where apprehended on the morning, including a 20-year-old who was charged for reckless and negligent driving after he clocked 195km per hour.

The 20-year-old had no reason for speeding at 8:15 on the Sunday morning.

The same stretch of road saw two more speedsters being arrested. A 36-year-old male motorcyclist stated that he was late for a breakfast. He was driving 185km per hour. A 27-year-old driving 175km per hour in a Toyota Corolla Sedan was also arrested on Sunday.

All three suspects were taken to Alberton Police station and will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court. All three will be facing charges of reckless and negligent driving.

They were released after posting bail of R1 000.
