The mother was detained after her children arrived at crèche with blackened eyes, visible bruises and scratches.
The police were notified and a case was opened against the mother, who was then taken into custody. The two children aged three and five years were checked by medical personnel and taken to a place of safety.
The mother will appear at Palm Ridge court on February 25.
