Lost for more than 18 years

An employee of SAPS brought a long lost son back to his family after seeing a photo posted on Facebook.

ALBERTON – A family was reunited recently with their son after an Alberton SAPS employee noticed a photo posted on a Facebook page about a missing boy.
The young man who went missing more than 18 years ago, was living on the streets of Alberton, he claimed that he did not have a family. He was under the impression that his family had all passed away.
Both parties were shocked and amazed that they were reunited after all this time.
According to Alberton SAPS the confusion stemmed from a domestic issue. No crime was committed and thus there no case was opened.
“It was only a miscommunication by families and relatives,” a SAPS spokesperson explained.
Colonel Kubone, Alberton SAPS Station Commander, was there when the young man was reunited with his family.
Police officials described the reunion as a happy occasion.
