Bracken Primary donates to Alberton SPCA

Brackenhurst Primary really showed where their heart lies when they donated R6000 to the Alberton SPCA on Ascension Day.

ALBERTON- Brackenhurst Primary really showed where their heart lies when they donated R6 000 to the Alberton SPCA recently.

To commemorate Ascension Day, the school held a short service on the rugby field and the children sat in the formation of a cross with their balloons. The short service was followed by a pledge to Stephanie Henning from the Alberton SPCA. She said they would use some of the donation to restore the drainage system which hasn’t been updated for over 20 years.

The school sold balloons at R10 each to the pupils who, in turn, attached heart warming messages to them.

The minister who conducted the service encouraged the children to think of someone who is going through difficult times as they released the balloons simultaneously.

SPECIAL CEREMONY: The children from Bracken Primary really enjoyed the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the SPCA animals.
