EDEN PARK – A mother and her two children were robbed by three people, who were armed, on May 29, in Riemvasmaak Extension 5.
The mother opened her door for a crying lady and then three armed thugs forced their way in. They demanded money and took the mother and her son’s cellphones. They also ripped a mounted television from the wall and took tekkies and other items of clothing.
They then fired two shots at the neighbours, who arrived to investigate after receiving an SMS from the eldest son. He was able to send the SMS before they took his phone.
The thugs fled into the adjacent, uninhabited bushy area. Empty bullet cartridges were found on the scene.
A case of house robbery has been opened at the police station.
