House robber sentenced to 15 years

ALBERTON – Alberton Police Station’s Detective Warrant Officer Elias Setona secured a 15 year sentence for a suspect linked to a house robbery in 2011 and theft in 2014.

Sergeant Phora Nkuna, a police spokesperson, said the sentence was handed down in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court and the convicted man was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

Nkuna said a special thanks goes towards Warrant Officer Freddie Brand who assisted with the investigation and commented that the officers are very good assets to the SAPS.
