Man tries to hang 10-year old

A 48-year-old man will appear in the Germiston Court after he was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a 10-year-old boy in Rondebult, yesterday, October 5.

ALBERTON – A 48-year-old man will appear in the Germiston Court today after he was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a 10-year-old boy in Rondebult, yesterday.

According to Alberton SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Phora Nkuna, the boy was part of a small group who were throwing stones at birds in a tree.

Their actions reportedly angered a resident and he caught one of the boys, then tried to hang him from a tree.

A passerby saw what the man was doing, shouted at him to release the boy, and notified the police. The man was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up and is reported to be well.
