Suspected rose thief caught

A security guard of Hi Zone Tactical Response Unit was allegedly bribed by a thief trying to steal roses at a flower shop.

CITY DEEP – A suspect was arrested by a Hi Zone Security Services’ tactical response unit on Wednesday morning, October 21, after he tried to steal roses worth thousands of Rand.

Spokesperson for Hi Zone Security Services, Jason Fourie, said the arrest took place at a flower market in City Deep.

Fourie said that the suspect tried to steal two trolleys full of roses valued at R10 000 and then tried to bribe a guard with R1 000.

“Police arrived on scene and a case has been opened. They will be investigating the case further,” Fourie said.
