Hitchhiker and partner murder motorist

A motorist was killed by two suspects on Old Vereeniging Road on Tuesday, November 3.

ALRODE – A motorist was killed by two suspects on Old Vereeniging Road in the early evening hours of Tuesday, November 3.

According to Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Lindi Moloi, the driver of a Ford Sapphire allegedly stopped on the side of the road at about 19:30 to allow a male hitchhiker into his car. Once he had stopped, another male suspect emerged from the veld next to the road and produced a firearm.

The hitchhiker then instructed the driver to exit the vehicle after which it is believed the second suspect shot and killed the driver. The suspects are still at large.

A case of murder has been opened at the Brackendowns Police Station.
