Two drivers nabbed for speeding

The arrested drivers were charged at Brackendowns Police Station for reckless and negligent driving.

TWO drivers were arrested on Friday, January 29, in Brackendowns, on Kliprivier Road (R556).

Metro Police officers who were monitoring the road, apprehended the two offenders between 18:00 and 22:00, for disregarding the 80km/h speed limit sign.

“Officers stopped a silver VW Golf with the 25-year-old male driver and a female passenger, for clocking 146km/h, where the driver claimed that he needed to relieve himself. Citing that he was rushing home. Also, a 34-yearr old female, driving a black BMW, was nabbed for doing 113km/h,” said Lieutenant Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD media liaison officer.

The arrested drivers were charged at Brackendowns Police Station for reckless and negligent driving.
