OFFICERS from the Alberton SAPS arrested 143 suspects between Friday, January 15, and Monday, January 25.
Suspects were arrested for the following: murder – two, theft – theft -14, shoplifting – 11, assault with grievous bodily harm- four, fraud – eight, possession of suspected stolen property – five, possession of drugs – eight, assault – seven, reckless and negligent driving – four, drunk driving – two, rape – three, housebreaking – four, possession of drugs – eight, forgery – four, possession of unlicensed firearm – one, discharging of a firearm – one, possession of hijacked vehicle – two, defeating the ends of justice – one, dealing with liquor without a license – one, malicious damage to property – nine, trespassing – one, business breaking – one, contempt of court – two, illegal immigrants – 24.
