Elizabeth steals the show at the Caxton awards
Elizabeth Ntomncane won the first prize of the evening at the 27th annual Caxton awards, held on Friday, March 18.
ELIZABETH Madonsela, the Caxton South receptionist, won the first prize of the evening at the 27th annual Caxton awards, held on Thursday, March 17.
This year’s event was a festive affair, and the sound of joyous celebration reverberated through the Johannesburg Theatre as Elizabeth’s name was called for Best Receptionist.
“I would just like to thank the manager, Christiaan Welthagen, he’s not just a manager, he’s a friend and brother. Also, the team at Caxton South for all the love and support, it means a lot to me,” she said with her trademark smile.
Elizabeth started out as a domestic worker, but she heard about a position as a tea lady at the Caxton South office from one of the women who used to work there and she grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
She has been working at the office for 10 years now, as a Tea Lady for six years, and receptionist for four.
When asked to what she ascribes her success, she simply said: “Be patient, don’t rush things. Everything happens as it should and in its own time”.
Elizabeth is a proud community member of Zonkizizwe in Katlehong and wants to be an inspiration to others who may be in a similar situation to what she was in, and just wants them to know that you can be successful, as long as you are positive and work hard.
Caxton South office is bursting with pride; we love you, Lizzy.
