Accident on Swartkoppies Road

The accident happened on the corner of Swartkoppies Road and Hibiscus Street, when, according to onlookers, a truck sped through the intersection when the light had turned red, hitting a car turning into Hibiscus, and speeding past and knocking down one of the concrete poles in the process.

Upon arrival at the scene, the jaws of life were being used by emergency services, presumably to free trapped passengers of the car.

It is not yet known if any injuries or fatalities have occurred, but the RECORD will follow up and keep readers updated.
