Owner of the store Juan-Pierre Olivier, who has been in the industry for seven years, also owns Tint Rite, that deals with the machinery involved in mixing paint.
Store manager Anthea James, a veteran of 15 years in the paint business, says they are different to many other stores which simply stock paint and its accompanying products.
“We always try to build relationships with our customers, giving one-on-one attention, and I believe we have an edge on our competitors because we offer expertise, so we can steer our customers in the right direction with regards to what they would need,” says Anthea.
Mega Paints stocks Dulux and Stevensons paint and other products, and offers credit to contractors.
The store recently helped with the Oom Johan Housing Project, in Meyerton, providing products like paint, brushes, rollers and primers to help an under-privileged man to finish the house he started building for himself years ago.
“We are also planning a Blanket Drive sometime soon; it’s starting to get a bit chilly now,” says Olivier.
Mega Paints is situated at 15 Padstow Street, Raceview (opposite Raceview Motors), and is open on weekdays from 08:00 until 17:00, and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00.
