TWO males aged 28 and 30 were arrested on Thursday, May 19, around 16:00, for attempted housebreaking in Verwoerdpark.

The daughter of the home-owner was in the house at the time and heard the window break. When she went to check what had happened, she saw two males trying to break the window’s burglar bars and called the police. SAPS’s quick response resulted in an arrest.

The two males were found by the police still busy trying to break open the bars and when they saw the police, they started running and jumped into the neighbours yard.

More police arrived to provide back-up and the suspects were caught hiding in one of the yards. The suspects will be charged with attempted housebreaking and will appear at Palm Ridge court to answer to the charges.
