Burglars and robbers target bakery

Bakery hit twice in one month.

FAMILIES take their hard-earned cash to start businesses and build a life – just to lose it all to feeble-minded criminals. One such family is the Khumalo family who fell prey to criminals twice this month.

Deidre’s Bakery in Corona Street, Eden Park was burgled on Thursday, June 16. “We closed at 13:00 on Youth Day to give our staff time to celebrate the day. Everything was all right when we left just to find that we had been burgled when we arrived for work at 07:00 on June 17. The burglarproof steel door and wooden door were broken.

“The thieves took all the cold drinks and the cash left in the register. They even took the banana loaves from the shelves. On June 4 we experienced an armed robbery when our cash was taken by armed thugs and now this burglary,” said the owner, Diana Khumalo.

A case of business burglary is being investigated by Eden Park SAPS.
