ER24 paramedics went to Florida Lake, Roodepoort, after receiving a call about a newborn baby found on July 12 in the afternoon.
Paramedics were contacted by SAPS after the baby was apparently found floating in the lake. Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics found the premature baby on the bank alongside the lake wrapped in a space blanket.
Upon assessment of the baby it was found that there were no signs of life. The baby was declared dead.
Exact details surrounding the incident are unknown.
